Old TOTD and Old Comics

Today's Thing archives some old comics, plus tracks the long history of Thing-related websites.

The new TTOTD has made me a bit nostalgic for the old TOTD and some of the comics I've made since the last web site, so today's Thing is a web page cataloging some old comics. There's a comic I made for Secret Santa and a fake magazine cover for my son's speech, plus some others. Not all of the comics are there, I'm still tracking them down. Once I do, I'll probably take a stab at a bigger site that's more handcoded. Possibly a whole TTOTD media site.

Mostly, the whole purpose of this contest is to force me to learn better organizational skills.

As a bonus Thing today, here's a list of many of my old, dead blogs and websites, from newest to oldest as I remember them. Lots of dated embarrassing stuff:

Thing of the Day (The original site)

Just Cheap dirt

JCD

The Cult Movie Page (This was the first site I've built from scratch.)

Original .mac site

I've also had a podcast site for month or so last year, however, the host libsyn has deleted the site. I made about eight or so shows. I'll make a web page archiving those podcasts sometime in the future. It'll be a Thing. Also, if I can find space, I'll also archive all my old radio shows. Those shows used to be on a domain I owned, www.gebryan.com but I've lost the domain and my static IP due to cost. It was fun running a domain right off the same computer I played Warcraft.

If you google search me, you may run into a ton of other sites I've created for a short time or for various special uses, mostly work-related; I didn't include them because they're mostly boring. I've also started a blog on almost every blog service just to test them out. Most of the postings there consist of the word "test." Exciting.

Heck, if I could find them, I used to run a daily e-mail list called Thing of the Day for about five years in the mid-to-late 90's. It's the real spiritual forerunner to this site and the first daily internet Thing I ever tried.

Man, I've been a nerd for a very long time.
